Upper Limb Jerks

Medical first year has only 3 subjects - anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. The anatomy department in my college (I don't know about the others) rules over the first year. It has the most vast portion out of the three, that needs to be completed in a years' time ( initially it was in 2 years time - imagine how much one has to study now! )
The main part of anatomy is obviously dissection. This year began with the dissection of the superior extremity or the upper limb - in layman's language. The first thing i learnt was that our little palm has about...hmm... not 5 nope not 10 but 20 tiny little muscles. Similarly, I was taught the muscles of the rest of the limb. Oh! But that's not where it ended. The blood supply, nerve supply and the courses of the nerves and vessels were to be learnt too....
On completing a month in college, a 10 day vacation was declared for dusshera. Of course a lot of us made it a 2 week vacation.
Most of my friends and I returned to the college at the end of 2 weeks, not having touched the anatomy books - despite hearing of rumours of a major internal exam that would welcome us on our return.
The rumours were true of course, and it was announced that the exam would be conducted in 10 days time. This was news that completely deserved a panicky scream. Complete the superior extremity in a weeks' time when the anatomy department itself hadn't completed it!
If you had seen the girls at my hostel, you'd think we were preparing for the PMT (pre - medical test) all over again. The next whole week went by like that. The usual noise (well, most people call it music) was gone, gossiping groups of girls absent from the corridors and the usually running television was not switched on for the entire week!! Instead you could see them all ruining their sleep cycles by staying up till 5 in the morning studying and sleeping during lecture hours. I never did that of course. Nothing in this entire world can make me compromise on my sleep.
All of my friends and I were sick worried. We had not completed the portion neither did we know of the pattern of the paper - I mean u can't expect your medical examination paper to be like your board paper any more, can you?! The lectures were constantly revising, insulting and humiliating students - which has its obvious advantages and disadvantages.
So, everyday after class, I'd feel relaxed and cool - not bothered by the exam. But weirdly before I went to bed I'd go crazy. I'd send 10 messages to my close friends telling them that I would fail. They, obviously, were very supportive and would boost my confidence.
Eventually, d day before the D-day arrived and everyone freaked. The portion had piled up and I had no idea where to start. I think I spent 2 hours staring at my histology textbook, reading the same line over and over again. Ultimately, my friends and i grouped up and completed everything we could.....
D-Day at last. I was just so happy that the day had arrived. Now it would be the end to my misery. I was looking at the nice little outing that my friends had planned as a reward for the weeks' study.
The test was good. I was able to answer every question on the paper - but that doesn't mean I'll top my class.....
Right now, I plan to stay upto date with the class work to prevent the wretchedness I suffered the last week - though the plan isn't going to well as of now..... :D

Firstly, thanks for the comment but I am still in a fix whether I do know you or not.

Your blog makes me feel I've talked to you before.
Your medical lessons have sounded so far very hectic. I am glad I didn't take up medicine:P Although science isn't helping me in class 12!! :)
