Safe Haven

The hills have a halo today
A white sheen
Outline peeks.
The cuppa simmers
Early summer morn
Reminence days gone.

The cafe around the corner
A place quiet
Blue and white
Cocooned under canopies
Limited menu and people
Busiest cu de sac of the city.

The literary cafe down hill
A quaint house
Stacked with books
Unending food & drink
Rapidly recycling guests
Touristy turn of town.

The rocks by the bay
Shades of white & grey
Crowded couples scattered
Leap from stone to sleet
Waves gently lick our feet
Glorious sunset skyline

The cushion in the corner
Behind the bookshelf
By the balcony
Raindrops trickling in
A cup of coffee
My favourite story.

The suitcases at the door
A beautiful home to leave
Hoarded books, treasured tales
Everything placed with care
Warm awkward embrace
Universes' love encased.
